server problem

Hi, I recently installed Windows Me and I now find that I cannot access the multiplayer game, as I cant log into the master server, nor can I get my personal server to work.
I suspect this might be something to do with the fact that what used to be shown as an IP set of numbers (typically 210:22:12:8) is now shown as a set of alphanumerics (aEtddSahT). I assume this is some function of Win Me as it never used to be like that with the Win 98 (version 2) I was using previously.
Is there any fix for this problem that you know of please,as I particularly enjoy the mp game.

Win Me uses the same ip numbers as 98 to find your ip go to start/run and type winipcfg this shows the number you'll use as your server addy now the master server ip is 24.177.150.77 this is the number you have to put in to query the master server in the game and in the master server address in the game server BUT if your running the demo it will hafta include the port number ie 23.177.150.77:25537 and to get this to stay in the server you put it in then click save then restart the server THEN from then on when the server starts do not click save click quit or what ever the other option is or it will clear the port number!!!!

I am running Demise with WinMe and it didnīt made anything with the ip numbers (i know that a little since i have cable modem...) I can run Demise and i sometimes play online, so it is a system+WinMe issue...
I have to agree that WinMe is hard to make work but after some 2 weeks i managed to make almost anything run on it. Just to let you know, i think WinMe is somewhat different in dealing with peripherals than Win98 i donīt know but it seems to me...
I shouldnīt really ask this question but anyway... Is your WinMe from the shelf, i mean is it a legal copy? Donīt need to answer but it seems to me that there were some older versions that had some problems...
