Keyboard lockout

Just built a computer for my wife and she was playing some solitaire when the machine froze. She had to hard boot and after the computer went through the memory test, she got a message that the keyboard was locked. Unlock the keyboard to continue. I have tried to reset the cmos and unplug the keyboard lockout plug and still can't get rid of the message or boot into windows. My wife insists that she didn't do anything unusual (I do believe her). Anyone got any suggestions? -I have searched the Internet and can't find any solution. I think the Motherboard went into shock and set the lock on its own. Computer has been working fine for a week. Specs: p6fx1-b award bios, pentium pro 200 mhz, 64 mbs ram, 2 gb hd

i know this is a bit simplistic, but did you try a different keyboard?

Usually, this kind of thing happens if a key gets jammed on th kb or something of that sort. If you get the same message with another keyboard or w/o a kb I have no idea.

Tried a different keyboard-tried booting without the keyboard- tried a different keylock- always get the same message that the keyboard is locked- unlock keyboard. My wife told me there was a static shock when she touched the computer- so I suspect that she fried the connection on the motherboard. Don't know if this was a valid test, but hooked up the turbo connection to where the keylock is supposed to be and the turbo didn't light up (will light up when connected correctly).
I am pretty sure that that the shock fried the MB connection- now to see if this covered under warranty. Thanks for the advice !!!

Yep theres a little fuse in the keyboard connector that gets cooked very easy you may wana check and make shure none of the pins are bent in the keyboards plug
