OGL vs 3d

Just got curious yesterday and switched my Geforce over to OpenGL to see what it would do. It looks like frame rates are up a little (65 -> 75 fps) but I did notice drawbacks. When I went to FULL screen dungeon view (20.4" of ugly monsters), the map and char sections it puts on the left side went flaky. They kinda flashed in and out, mostly out. Also, that room with the two stairs from 4-5 was full of slaves once, and it choked down to 1.3 fps. Only happened once, but never saw anything like that in 3d mode. So I am switching back. No OGL for the GeForce.

On my GeForce 2 with W98 the dialog boxes for healing (if i have comps), teleporting and so on are disappearing behind the main game screen under OGL, i only see the last few lines of the dialog box left, under W2K I get the pixel format invalid messages Blue Knight metionend in the other thread. Seems the GeForce and GTS don't like the Demise OGL mode, other games run fine with OGL.

i also have win98 and a Geforce2 and i am experiencing the same phenomenon. I'm happy with the general speed improvement (over my old video card) and now all my critter icons work.... I still get some odd text background when running in D3D, and oddly enough GL seems to give me slighter faster framerates-overall... so i play in normal mode, never cared a whole lot for full screen and half screen modes, since i lose some char/comp data when switching... so i'm sticking with GL.

I'm running Win ME with Geforce card and both OGL and D3D works great. Have about 10-15 higher framerrate with D3D but no graphic glitches with either mode.
