I was having serious problems with my computer--i couldn't even get into windows without being in safe mode, so i reformatted my hard drive... Here's the problem: I had demise located in my d: drive, and windows et. al. was on the c: drive... i only formatted the c: drive. When i reinstalled demise on the d: drive, it has none of my characters there. Is there a way that I can get them back, cause i'd really apprecicate it... I spent over 50 hours on 3 characters and i was finally finding some really cool shit.

Firt thing- did you do a backup? Did you save your demise folder on a cd or zip disk? There is a backup folder that you can do a backup from. But if you didn't do a manual backup and only did autobackup, then you may have overwritten the files when you exited Demise after the install. If you did a manual backup, then go into demise and do a restore. Choose no to restore autobackup, and yes to restore manual backup. If this doesn't work, hopefully you saved the files on zip or cd. If you need help restoring from zip or cd, let me know. I have finally got the restoring down tight, and believe me- restoring from a cd is a piece of cake. Since you have 2 drives (or a partition) I would suggest creating a duplicate demise directory for backup. Just copy the entire Artifact Directory into a new folder. Yeah, it takes up space, but you will be happy when you need it.
