I finally reinstalled Demise after a long break from it. I used to play a lot, so I know this isn't a regular "feature" of the game. I cannot open chests or pick up dead comrades. I sometimes get a msg that say the ceiling or another object is in the way, but sometimes nothing at all happens when I press the button. Any thoughts or suggestions??

Sorry about this, but you said after a long break.. Maybe your pressing the wrong button ? maybe ? sorry again

(in SP) open chests = "o", pickup char = "p", up (flight) = "-", down (flight) = "+", Not trying to be condescending, but the only time I get "floor/ceiling in the way" is when I'm flying.

I'm betting that Kaye is using a laptop and has the Numlock on, as O and P correspond to + and - (or maybe - and + ?) when Numlock is on. If not, check your keyboard driver and/or mapping.

Well, installing the patches fixed the problem...last time I played the full release version there were no patches. So, it took me a while to figure out that I needed to patch it up. Thanks for trying guys.
