Run [Start] [Find] Files or Folders, enter Kernel32.dll and then when its found, right click on properties and read the version number ... mine's 4.10.2222 is yours earlier?

maybe I could zip a copy of mine and you could save yours then unzip mine into your windows/system directory? (maybe dangerous - Ive got Win98se ...)

it seems to be an individual file<. i got this file from a friend too, same version but different size, but only this game gets annoyed of it... kinda confusing

Try running the rendering utility before starting Demise. Have you tried updating DirectX to version 8.0? Have you checked for newer video drivers? Info on kernel32.dll for WinME...
FILE INFORMATION: Name: kernel32.dll
Description: Win32 Kernel core component
Version: 4.90.0.3000
DLLSelfRegister: No
PRODUCTS CONTAINING THIS VERSION:
PRODUCT SIZE MOD DATE CAB/IEXPRESS RELATIVE PATH

You can grab the version that is supposed to be with WinME from the win_11.cab Go to your C:\Windows\Options\Install folder. You should be able to use winzip to extract a file from the cab.
