After installing DX8/DX8a on W2K Demise didn't recognizes the Direct3D render option and turns to OpenGL render mode in which I get those wrong pixel format errors. previous I went with DX7 which comes with W2K and later DX8 Beta which also did fine. The DXdiag tool shows no hardware acceleration found for Direct Draw, Direct3D and AGP Surface Acc., but the testing function for Direct Draw and Direct3D runs successful. Problem appears with Detonator3 6.34 and 6.50 on a Elsa Geforce2 GTS 32 DDR

On my old machine (K6-200, 160MB Ram, 3D Blaster Banshee) DirectX 8.0a runs fine, the DXDiag tool shows hardware acc. enabled and in Demise I'm able to select Direct3D. I assume the problem might be some entries in the registry which show Direct3D as disabled, but I've no idea where to search.
