re-population problems

man, i'm getting sick of the re-pop problems. With a 'newer' install i had very few re-pop problems. It would seem the older an install gets, the worse the re-pop problem gets. Level 26 has been the worst one for me. I don't go there all the time. I usually run 27-basement and hit 26 every now and then, because i get some decent bounties for kills on 26, fairly regularly. I usually let 2 or 3 of them appear and then do a clear of 26, hoping to get a couple of the bounties. Lately, i can't get 26 to re-populate. I've gone as many as 4 re-pops without anything showing on 26! It's getting REAL frustrating. The problem seems to be 'infecting' 27-basement, now. The past couple days, i've spent ~20% of my dungeon time, running through empty levels, hoping there will be something to kill there the next time. to the point... does anyone know a 'solution' to this problem. I was gonna toy around with some of the files( delete them) to see if it made a difference... but i don't want to deal with crashes/encryption problems.

What time do you go to bed at night?

What I do when that problem seems to crop up is just leave Demise running when I go to bed and let the midnight re-pop happen. Another thing you could do is reset your clock to right before midnight then set it back afterwards. Be advised that this can cause the play time of your characters to be messed up when doing a /g view of your stats. I think mine is about 100 hours off now since I messed with the time one night.

Not shure if this one works in sp or not but in mp if you deleat DEMISEServerMonsters.MIS it compleatly resets the monster lists just like a fresh dungeon. And I think I rember some one said it worked in sp too. PS I'm not shure what happens when you run thru the whole list for a room, like is it suposta reset the list or is it used up and need manualy reset.

You are absolutely correct. That will cause a repop. In the same notion. Simply restarting the server should cause a repop as well.

In MP, simply restarting the server doesn't always work. Fr me, when using my loopback, the 1st repop comes very quickly, usually within 15 minutes tops. After that, I am lucky to see a repop in hour and a half.
