I searched the bugs list and it was the #1 reported bug, but the solution was not posted there. What should I do?

I sent an e-mail to the bugs e-mail address asking for a fix for the ding problem, and this was the response from Rick. If you check your system.ini file located under c:\windows, there may be a double entry. You will need to remove one of the entries: [drivers32] MSACM.qmpeg=pmpeg.acm (bad one) remove line MSACM.qmpeg=qmpeg.acm (this is the right one) Go to where you installed demise (usually C:\Program files\Artifact-Entertainment\Demise\) and type in the following from the command line: regsvr32 DemiseAnim.ocx regsvr32 THREED20.OCX regsvr32 VBDListText.ocx regsvr32 VBDScrollbar.ocx Just so eveyone knows, I have NOT tried this yet. I'll keep you posted as to the results. If anyone else needs the info, just shoot me an e-mail and I'll forward this stuff.

Well, I got it to work. After fiddling with it for hours, and applying a couple of patches, it finally worked.
